F.A.Q’s

Q – How do I know if my copy of Firehouse was purchased by the KSFM?

A – The Firehouse license purchased by the KSFMO was for the basic incident reporting only.  If your department is using Firehouse for any other reporting (such as the NEMSIS EMS reporting and/or Inspections) or you have multiple user licenses then you more than likely do not have a copy of Firehouse provided by us.  If you are not sure, please contact the NFIRS Program Manager.

Q – How much is Firehouse going to cost my department?

A – KSFM does not have individual pricing for each department.  Departments are encouraged to contact Firehouse directly if you are considering purchasing your own license.  The Kansas sales rep for Firehouse is:

Mike Rogers

(888) 941-3473

mike.rogers@acs-inc.com

Marvin Surles

(888) 941-3473

marvin.surles@acs-inc.com

Q – What training is needed or provided to use the USFA online reporting system?

A – The online reporting client is based on the same standard that all 3rd party vendors must adhere to (NFIRS 5.0 Standard) so the data fields and coding will be identical.  The USFA online reporting client provides a basic data retrieval function just as Firehouse, however the reporting may not have as many options as what are currently available in Firehouse.  KSFMO will provide training on NFIRS and using the online reporting client starting this fall, please check our website for training updates and scheduling.  If you would like to have individual training for your department, please contact the NFIRS Program Manager.

Q – Do I need to export monthly if I use the USFA online reporting system?

A – No, the online reporting client is writing your incident data directly to the USFA NFIRS database so there is no need to export your data entries.

Q – Can I generate a paper report using the USFA online reporting system?

A – Yes you can, the online reporting client does provide for an incident report should you need one.
